Dry Pro PICC Line Protector

What is a PICC Line?
PICC stands for Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter. Basically, it’s a small flexible tube that inserted into a peripheral vein, typically in the upper arm, and used for infusion therapy for antibiotics, chemotherapy, hydration, or TPN (total parental nutrition).
Why would I need to use a PICC Line Protector?
The area around where the PICC is inserted can be prone to infection and extra care is needed during showering and/or swimming. Using a PICC line cover when showering or swimming helps to keep bacteria and other contaminates away from the vein the PICC is inserted into.
Why did you want to review the Dry Pro PICC Line Protector?
Normally the doctor says no showering above the waist with the PICC line and that can get old and annoying after awhile. This allowed me to take normal showers and not worry about getting the PICC line wet. I used it when I wanted to try taking a full shower to see if it would keep the water out and it did which was great.
Was the Dry Pro PICC Line Protector easy to use?
Yes, The PICC protector was easy to use. You just pull it on and then use the built in pump until it is air tight. Then you remove the pump and cap it off and you are all set to go. I am glad I was able to use it and that it did a great job of keeping my PICC line protected and dry.
Would you recommend the Dry Pro PICC Line Protector to other patients?
Overall I would highly recommend the product to anyone with a PICC line.
